About Our Health Education Services
Health Education is an important component of public health. Through community surveys and assessments we are able to identify problems and address issues that community members feel are important to them. Many of the problems we see in Randolph County are the same problems we see within other counties in Missouri as well as the United States as a whole. We collaborate with public and private businesses and with social agencies within our community and coordinate joint efforts to work on solving those identified issues and problems.
Our Chronic Disease Health Educator works in Randolph and Monroe Counties to provide educational classes and in-services focusing on three main areas nutrition, exercise and tobacco.
We coordinate with our school nurses to assure our children have quality affordable health care. This health care includes vision, dental and acute medical attention. Through coordination with our local schools we are able to teach students about issues such as tobacco prevention and cessation, health and social issues related to alcohol usage resulting in unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
Knowledge truly is powerful! The more you know about your body and the importance of preventing illness and diseases, the better you are able to take control of your health care.
We can help you prevent heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, cancers, and arthritis so you can live your life doing the things you enjoy!
