Environmental Health Services

Environmental health protects the public from disease related to physical, chemical and biological factors in the environment. It encompasses assessment and control of these factors and is targeted towards creating a healthy supportive environment.
Environmental health issues are addressed by:
- Inspecting food establishments
- Inspecting temporary food establishments at events
- Inspecting daycares
- Inspecting lodging facilities
- Inspecting sewage system installations
- Investigating sewage/food service complaints
- Investigating food borne disease outbreak
- Educating the community on current food/code regulations, sewage system options, food permits, etc.
- Observing and preventing the spread of communicable diseases
